Wit hits 2000 years of history, this is an inescapable city of Bourgogne. Born from the desire of the Emperor Augustus, about 15 before our era, it kept of this period the Gallo- Roman vestiges still visibles : the Temple said of Janus, Doors of Arroux and Saint André, theater, walls and towers, Couhard stone… The Christian middle-Ages left the Cathedral Saint-Lazarre of Clunisien style built from 1120, the bishop’s palace, the high districts with their narrow streets and their half-timberings houses.
